About

Living at or below the median income for Greater Boston is a challenge. Add in Homeschooling and you need parkour-level skills to manage and get by.

This blog is dedicated to helping Greater Boston families who homeschool and face serious fiscal challenges. Some of us; live without a car out of necessity, live is subsidized housing, receive government assistance, have seen our affordable grocery stores close, visit food banks to bridge the gaps, have declared bankruptcy, lost our home to rental increase, and faced other challenges. Welcome! This blog is for you and I have a lot of hope for what might grow out of it!

Broke Boston Homeschooling is written by an introverted, local homeschooler who has lived in New England for 35 years, moved to this area in 2011 and has homeschooled her two kids since 2013. In that time, their family income hasn’t declined, but their level of % AMI in Greater Boston has declined at least 15%, and it’s become noticeably more difficult to find attainable resources. Her homeschooling labels: secular, homeschooling out of necessity, eclectic.
